On Running was founded in 2010, following an aligned vision of three running-enthusiasts who strived for the best underfoot-sensation possible. Today’s story begins in Switzerland’s largest city, an influencer’s dream surrounded by picturesque Alpine landscapes riddled with routes accessible for all athletic abilities - Zurich.
Olivier Benhard is not only a three-time duathlon champion and multi-winning Ironman contender, but finds himself as one third of the trio who have been elevating your standard runner’s experience for over two decades. Following the help of a Swiss engineer to produce physically proven concepts and On’s unique technological feel, Benhard’s vision was shared by close friends Casper Coppetti and David Allemann.
So, our protagonists established On early January 2010 and received the ISPO BrandNew Award in February - another five months later we saw Zurich’s team hit shop floors. Today, On Running takes its seat at TOWER’s footwear table - lined with sporting options from globally celebrated brands. 
Athletes were introduced to the world’s lightest fully cushioned sole as February 2014 began, a technological advance that helped On rank as one of Runner’s World Magazine’s top 20 most important running shoes across the USA, GB and Germany. Exactly a twelve months on, the now-acclaimed Swiss brand won its second award beneath ISPO’s silverware umbrella — a Gold Award for 2015/16’s Best Performance Shoe with no one surpassing their Cloud silhouette.
